現代の新しい創作表現を紹介するシリーズの第6回として、「淺井裕介 ー 絵の種 土の旅」展を開催します。
淺井裕介は、土や埃、道路の白線など身近な素材を用いてさまざまな場所で絵画制作をしている作家です。
≪泥絵≫と呼ばれるシリーズは、主に現地の土を採取し水で溶いて、直接、壁や板に描かれます。
また、2003年より続けている≪マスキングプラント≫という植物画シリーズは、
マスキングテープで制作した植物や動物の形の上にペンで描いた造形が絡み合い、イメージが無限の広がりを見せています。
今回の展示では、作家がこれまで各地で採取した土に加えて、当館や箱根の名所で採取した土も使われます。
1階では、壁面いっぱいの泥絵作品に、公開制作によって新しくこの場所で生まれてくる形がつけ加えられます。
2階には、これまで長年続けてきた≪泥絵≫と≪マスキングプラント≫が融合した「木のつけ根のような、何かの巣のような、それ自体が生物のような」（作家の言葉）巨大な造形が新たな挑戦として生まれます。
無数の物語が相互に呼応して出現する神話的な世界を体感できる、またとない機会となります。

As the sixth part of a series to introduce new methods of expressing creative works in the modern age, we are holding “Yusuke Asai: Seeds of Imagination, Journeys of Soil”.
Yusuke Asai is an artist who creates various paintings in different places using familiar materials such as soil, dust, and the white lines on a road. The series which he calls “earth painting” chiefly uses local soil that he has collected, diluted in water and used to paint directly on walls and boards. The series of botanical images that he has been working on since 2003 entitled “masking plant” are forms drawn in pen over shapes of plants and animals that have been made with masking tape, which are entwined and show never-ending expansions of their images.
In this exhibit, in addition to the soil that the artist has collected at various locations, soil from this museum and from famous locations in Hakone will also be used. The first floor will exhibit earth painting all across the walls, with the addition of new forms that are given birth at this location in production work that will be open for viewers to observe. The second floor will see the generation of huge forms that will be produced as a new challenge, a merging of the “earth painting” that the artist has been working on for many years and his “masking plant”, which he describes as “sort of like the base of a tree, sort of like the nest of something, and sort of like a living being in itself”.
Enjoy a mysterious world where countless stories respond to one another.
